I intend this cartoon as a sincere compliment to whomever invented the elastic waistband. It's served me well over the years. I imagine most people have had the experience of wearing pants that fit comfortably in the morning but nearly kill you later in the day, because they've become so tight. Many people live with this problem, but I'd rather not.
