Ahmed Karam, a Chicago native, was on his way to becoming a jolly medical practitioner … until 9-11 came out to play. His older brother was put into custody for suspected terrorist activities, and his parents lost their professorships at U of C. Not wanting to burden his family of the expense of paying for medical school, Ahmed dropped out of the med school and began to support his family through a series of office jobs. Eventually, though, his talent for art came to his unlikely rescue, as a friend helped him secure a job as a tattoo artist. His premed BA and two years of med school made it easy for him to expand into piercings and implants. Ahmed lives in Chicago, in Washington Park, making him extremely strange among his friends because he lives on the South side. He claims it's because of the low rent; in actuality, it's probably because, while he can't afford to live in his childhood neighborhood of
Hyde Park, he can't bear to live far from it, even if it means living in Sketch City. Back to the Cast Page
