FUCK LUCKY! His cereal always tasted like cardboard with marshmallows. I thope we haven't seen the last of booberry.
Josh Shepherd (bergerjacques) says:
Quisp - the only being ever known to be able to stop Quake. He did it in an ish years and years and years ago. BUT Can He Do It Again, BOTG Readers? - Ed.

I've been looking over previous panels trying to figure something out: Does Coco have a weapon? I mean, Officer Krum has his service revolver. Dig'em has a more modern pistol, something magazine-fed, presumably semi-automatic. Tony has a rifle of some kind, and Seadog has a sword, but what's Coco using? I don't see him carrying anything, so I think it must be merely his hands and feet and super-monkey strength. Also there's his prehensile tail... He must be kicking ass somehow considering he's still alive after that melee on the previous two pages.
Ludlow Smith (ludlow) says:
Nice recovery by Quisp...here's hoping Quake's hash gets settled in the near future. Actually, I'd forgo that in favor of an all-out Super Bear meltdown.
eric fields (emf) says:
LS, I too am eagerly anticipating the transformation of Sugar Bear into Super Bear. Of course I don't actually know how this thing is going to end. Sure, Sugar Bear could continue to resist, but everything so far in this strip has played out like a Greek tragedy. Every character eventually succumbs to his true nature, to Destiny, to the "Will of the gods". Just like Trix Rabbit was destined to betray the Cap'n for the thing he secretly desired most, like Booberry was destined for one act of nobility in his otherwise slack-filled afterlife, like the Bee who was doomed by his own sunny (yet really annoying) disposition, Sugar Bear *will* become Super Bear. For SB to resist, would be like Achilles declining to return to the fray of the Trojan War. Sorry if the comparison to the Iliad sounds pretentious, like some kind of English Composition class flashback, but uh... this comic just rocks! Keep up the good work, Brendan!
Josh Shepherd (bergerjacques) says:
If Super Bear does appear, it may be appropriate that it be an ultimately futile gesture - though it may also reveal the critical weakness that allows our heroes to win the day.
