The original idea was that Norma's home planet had only seen old Earth broadcasts, so their idea of human culture was stuck in the 50s, and they had identified Marilyn Monroe as the pinnacle of Earth beauty (which makes them not exactly wrong). But here it makes it seem like they derived Norma's appearance from the poster. I think they had a whole bunch of templates ready to go, and this just clinched it for them.

Don't know who this guy is. Kind of sorry that he got chainsawed to death, but as is traditional in horror movies, he was enough of a jerk that I don't feel TOO bad.
Of course, since Freak U. is a mash-up of all kinds of college movies, a masked killer was inevitable, but I do feel like everyone takes him too lightly for much of the month...
