James West's Review of Battle Royal MX
Supers, wrestling, and hyperpop collide!
Battle Royal MX is the brainchild of Cydnee Clark-Praxis illustrated by Peter Bergeron. I've known about this comic since way before it was ever a comic, when Cyd was waxing and blasting out the ideas in conversation. I liked it. A big, fat world full of big badasses duking it out in front of the camera for the attention of the pop culture eyeballs. And yet more than that somehow. I love the opening scene with Tiger Nightfight getting blasted out of a skyscraper and saying (or thinking?) "People still ask me 'Is it fake?'". Great stuff. Hyper action, witty dialogue, quirky characters, and a world of pop that feeds on pop. The comic has only just started and I'm anxious to see where it goes. ... read it now!
