Kevin Wolf's Review of The Distinguished Gentlemen
Keep an eye on this one.

Let's get the obvious fault out of the way right off: this is not the best-drawn comic on the Internet. However, if you read through the very tiny backlog, you will see that the improvement has been pretty extraordinary so far, and I believe that Mr. Cook is capable of more than he is showing us.

What this strip does have going for it is this: the two main characters are a pipe-smoking frog and a gull type thing. They walk upright, dress formally and speak in a stereotypical upper-crust language peppered with interjections of "I say!" and references to tea. Basically, this is a comic that, in a more refined form, would be read and enjoyed by the characters in my own strip.

It is odd, surreal, and sort of a perfect little thing. I can't explain why I like it, but I do, and I want to see more. I want Mr. Cook to improve, expand, and grow the world.

This one is just a baby. Go, check it out. Give the artist some encouraging and helpful comments. Help nurture it. I want this comic to grow up into something really special. ... read it now!
