He's a brilliant writer, a master of the sketchy/primitive style (which, over time, has evolved in his hands into something warmly reminiscent of E.C. Segar), and just a heck of a cartoonist. One of the joys of being a Tom Hart fan is following the career of his signature character, Hutch Owen, an anti-capitalist, anti-establishment, politically-charged angry bum. At present, Hutch stars in a daily comic strip, where he hangs out with gullible trust-fund dilettante Oswald and a host of other refugees from society. It's political commentary, it's social commentary, it's smart, and it's funny. Good stuff.
