Leper Town for Saturday, February 17th, 2007 By Roderick McKie

Pathfinder shoes were essential for any Cub or Cub Scout or Scout.  The sole had a number of tiny examples of animal paw-prints on it.  They were raised, sort of embossed, and made a stamp on something like wet sand or mud; or a light-coloured carpet.  The shoes also had a small compass embedded into one of the soles.  Years later, I would get my own Pathfinder shoes.

Leper Town may, or may not, have been the original name of Liberton, a small village on the outskirts of Edinburgh, where I grew up. We were told that it was a Leper colony at one point and I think that since we all seemed to think that Leper's were Zombies that it was kind of cool, so we wanted to believe it.
