Lt Col Michael P Anderson was an astronaut aboard the Discovery that day, and had grown up here in the Inland Northwest. I met him once. Every kid needs to meet an astronaut. Space is cool, and without brave people like Anderson, NASA could do nothing (though, it's amazing they accomplish anything these days with their budgetary restraints).
