Monday - November 29, 2004:

I spent a decent chunk of my Sunday working on a review for the Webcomics Examiner so I'm a bit burned out in the reviewing category. Cat is worth a read though. It reminds me some of Peter Bagge's really early stuff, really sketchy, really expressive, lots of energy in every panel. Does anyone remember Neat Stuff? Kc's got a real eye for the gross. The humor is either subtle or a slap in the face. One thing disappointed me though, the stereotyping. Sometimes, this can be twisted to work, but I'm not sure this is one of those times. The strip definitely pushes the boundaries of what's appropriate and always with a punchline. I was confused by a few strips in which, having painted the characters into a corner, the author bails and draws a couple of panels of silliness. As someone who's never been married to the need to fill pages, particularly on the internet, I'd rather see the thing end early than crash and burn. I'll admit I got a chuckle out of a couple of the crash and burns though. It was certainly worth a read so thanks for the submission. If you have a comic you'd like the boys to review, please submit it, but don't expect more than the half-assed review you'll soon come to expect.

I feel the stereotypes work really well as they are more a parody of sterotypes than anything else.

You may be right. I'll be taking another shot at KC Green's work coming up later this month (Wednesday, April 27).
