Monday - December 6, 2004:

Surreal U has grown quite a bit over the past couple of years. In its early days, it was a poorly drawn comic with a regular dose of outrageous plot. The art has improved and the writing has evolved into a still improbable but  coherent story. Clay and I traded fan art though I still can't find my contribution on his site and then there's the problem with reading any keen strip: the damn thing won't load unless I disable my firewall. The Keeners must lose about thirty percent of their audience because of this. I still don't understand why they don't fix this. It is annoying and unprofessional. Instead of making sure I don't rip their comics, it has prevented me from following any keenspace comics, not a good formula for growth. Do people stay because they're afraid of doing a little programming? Perhaps WCN will change all that.

Update: I've since been taught how to disable the firewall for Keen sites. I'm still not entirely convinced this is good for their business, but at least I can check out the strips without much hassle.

Clay's sent me a private email saying he'll get my fan art up soon. Thanks.
