Monday - February 21, 2005: The comic's called Penis. I was ready to completely pan it when I drew the strip above. I'm still no fan, but the last few are at least humorous. Well, the idea that the fifth Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle, Picasso, was thrown out for being too violent is humorous anyway.
But don't let the simple, comic shapes and clean lines fool you, this is one poorly written comic. It walks around the edges of racist language and imagery, sexist language and imagery, and homophobic language and imagery. I get the feeling the intent is along the lines of South Park, but the result usually falls far short of being clever. I had hope when Carrot Top popped up, but bad comedians don't make bad comic strips any better. I cringed every time I saw the confederate flag in the background right above some graffiti with the N-word. The constant swearing made me say to myself, "Why, why, why am I reading this?"
Then I remembered: I read whatever people send. Please send me some quality or I'm going to need to start reviewing whatever I feel like. Thanks for the submission and good luck with the strip. I think you're going to need it.
In fact, after this one, I need to take a look at something a bit more, shall we say, refined. So, next up: Websnark. -Bob Stevenson

Has anyone mentioned what a brave soul you are for actually reading through these things?
I could only get through three of them when my brain popped and I had to stop. I wish sometimes that you'd post the submission letters:
"ZOMG...J00 must l00c at m3 w3bcomik! It RoX0rs!"...or something to that effect seems fitting. Though it would be great to know that Peniswas pitched as "A radical and inciteful satirical work using Double Abyss structure to challenge its viewing audience to think outside the proverbial box." :shudder:
