Roxanne Softback

September 1, 1989 -

Roxanne is nothing but an average kid who, for whatever reason, keeps getting herself drawn into the line of fire. She has no special powers, no knowledge of the occult, and really just wishes her part time jobs didn't all end up with Marie punching through a wall or some ridiculous garbage. Here's a little tip for you Roxy: if you don't want to deal with the paranormal, move out of the most haunted city on the west coast.

After meeting the gang for the first time at the Santa Aria Museum of History, Roxanne has formed a sort of on-again-off-again friendship with Trish, who admittedly needs a little normalcy of her own in her life.

Roxanne was originally going to be a stock female character that would keep showing up in backgrounds and stuff, but she ended up being funny enough and fun enough to draw that I ended up expanding her role in Chapter 4. That led to some problems with the "stock character" thing, so I'm taking refuge in audacity and making it a running gag. Roxanne keeps quitting jobs to get away from ghosts, and just ends up in the thick of it again. It's a pretty classic cartoon trope but I don't know the name for it.
