More Watermelon Head guest strips!

Dear Readers:

This is your humble author and artist of the "Watermelon Head" comics, which delve into the world of the absurd and bizarre, touching on both existenial humor and dadaist ideals. Sarah decided to let me take over for the description of this particular piece, as it's obvious that I put a tad more effort into my own comics than she ever does. But I digress.

This particular strip addresses the issue of time being nothing more than a concept applied to existence in order to understand the progression of events, and only the pocketwatch, the very representation of this illusion, know the truth. Of course, "time" is merely a mechanism used to try and keep the mind from imploding in on itself, as we do not have the ability not the capacity to comprehend the world as it really exists. The surrounding chaos happening outside of the balloon, completely unnoticed by our hero and his companion, illustrates just that.

For the last panel, I decided to take the strip in a completely different direction by incorperating an extremely ironic panel in which a giant baby seal is about to maul a seal hunter, and perhaps use his skin for a jacket. This panel shows that there is, indeed, other things going on outside of our own awareness that we will never comprehend unless told by someone else, usually the media.

I hope you enjoy my strips. Your feedback is priceless.

Yours indefinately,

~Jim Smith

My computer is down, so updates are suspended until it's fixed. Once that's done, I'll probably catch up in a matter of days, if not all at once. ~Izzy

Now that I've gotten the visitor's tracker up, I've discovered to my surprise that people are actually visiting us before we've even really started. Most of you are coming from Comixpedia, which for some reason has us at the top of thier webcomics sidebar. (Hopefully, we'll still be there once this site is ready to go public.)

So, to all of you random visitors, welcome to the Happy Monster Show. We're far from ready, but we are updating the comics regularly, and have a sizable buffer, so if you decide to keep visiting, you won't be disapointed. There's still a lot to be done here, but if you have any feedback or suggestions, feel free to email us at Happy Monster Show (no spaces) at Google mail.

(On the top of the current list of things to do is a character page, navigation buttons, and replacing the hand lettering with a readable font.) ~Izzy
