These strips first ran in 1997 in COMICS BUYER'S GUIDE, and later appeared in the anthology COMICS ARE DEAD. Although satirists dream that their salient and scathing observations will wake the world to reality, and fix things that need fixing, usually nothing changes as a result. All these years later, the comics industry hasn't learned much, and many of the situations portrayed in these strips are still sadly true.
