I wondered what the Simpsons might have looked like if Matt Groening, instead of creating the characters for television, had drawn them himself as a strip. Using his first sketches, the tone of the TRACY ULLMAN SHOW shorts, and his existing LIFE IN HELL strip as models, my hypothesis came out like this.
