I've come to the decision not to spend time adding in background that wasn't in the original drawings.  I have a backlog of 26 comics, and I've missed a couple of updates trying to tweak drawings that are two or more years old.

Feedback's appreciated.  It might not be acted upon - what you've seen so far is Very Old Backlog - but I can keep it in mind for later updates.
