Smithson Thus Far... ·

Yeah, more poster illustrations. This one's Beyond the Valley of the Dolls, a pretty awesome movie by Russ Meyer and a very young Roger Ebert. I'm much better at drawing babes now. Andrew is displeased that I drew myself in and thinks I ought to have covered myself up more. I'm more upset that it looks like I have a dislocated ankle, although it is in character for me to go around wearing nothing but a leopard skin and sweatsocks.

The tattoos on the bottoms of Zeta's feet are a nice touch. It's gotta hurt to get that done, not to mention trying to walk afterward. The gerbil is Dana, earlier established as female by reader poll.

Adam Burr (wolery) says: I personally love how Mell is the only one who seems shy about being there.
Rachel S. (masamage) says:

Dude, Zeta's feet. That is wonderful.

And I agree about Mell. (I also like how, in the Sunday features, she goes from being tickled at fanart that makes her look hot to being sort of bored and offended when people draw her naked.)

NigaiAmai Yume (nigaiamai_yume) says: Actually, Shaenon, I think you have someone ELSE'S legs there, sticking out of your leopard skin, while yours hide safe in a hold in the floor.
So It Begins (soitbegins) says:

I think my mind is about to explode.

It's having you in there that does it, I think.
David Harmon (mental_mouse) says:

A quick Google suggests that Sarge didn't specifically match either of the couple of the "cheesecake orgy" posters I could find, though one of them has a woman in a purple sheet with a similar posture to Shaenon's avatar.

Nobody seems to match Mell's wide-eyed look, though -- perhaps someone "forgot" to tell her she wasn't getting her own towel for this shot!

Tiff Hudson (tiff_hudson) says:

Ye, gods! Helen is hot!!

Never saw the movie, so spent some IMDB time this morning. Check out the entry for actress "Princess Livingston". Compare and contrast the two movies she made in 1970.

Ed Gedeon (eddurd) says:

Laura Rickelman (lazy) says:

poster link!

Sam Daniel (samhdaniel) says:

I think Mel's expression comes from having seen what's under the other half of the towel!

Re Zeta's heels: Shouldn't one heel or the other have the image flipped 180 degrees? Still awesome, though.

Aaron Shades (prof_tinker) says:

. . . . . *faints*

Oh, deary deary dear. . . .  what a marvelous pictiure.

wait, why is artie there?! I mean, i guess he does turn into a fan-service character later, but thats not for forever!

. . . Human Artie in naught but a towel. . .

Adam Underfoot (unnatural20) says:

Aaron, Aaron, Aaron. Read the comments again: That's Dana.

SamDan: Not rotated; that still wouldn't fix the problem. It needs to be mirrored.
