Smithson Thus Far... ·

Shaenon: Another doodle I sent to Jeffrey. Tip's dress is based on a costume Kevin O'Neill drew on Mina Murray on one of the covers for The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, a much more effective (not to mention better drawn) secret government organization.

Channing: For a while, I was actually attempting to work up a promo campaign for the comic based on this sketch. Unfortunately, it fell through, in part because I lack the confidence to engage in self-promotion all that much. The promotional strategy that was eventually enacted was -- as you may know -- posting about it in our respective blogs on launch day and then running away and hiding for a while. Arguably not the most effective strategy, but hey, if you're reading this now, it worked on you. Take that, artistically-confident people!

Alycia Shedd (leeshajoy) says: This demands to be made into a full-color poster. DEMANDS, I say.
Cameron Nielsen (cameroncn) says: Sweetheart with shades=ADORABLE.
James Rice (jhrice) says:

Hmmm.  It looks like it's drawn upside-down, on the back of a script for a strip in the current story line.

Excellent drawing.  I think that's the best yet of Sweetheart.

Rachel S. (masamage) says: That is freaking wonderful and adorable. I agree that it needs to be a poster.
Randy Goldberg (drgaellon) says: I love Tip in the Victorian gown, and Unity in the MIB business suit. Kudos!
Ed Gedeon (eddurd) says:

OK, I'm ashamed of myself.  I saw Sweetheart in shades and the first thing I thought of was "Reservoir Dogs".

Does Unity feel the same way as Mell about wearing hose?  Or does she have custom-made stiletto heels, with real stilettos?

Elaine Corvidae (elaine_corvidae) says: Tip is adorable. I agree with everyone else--this must be a poster! Come on, let us minions do some of the promo work for you.
David Harmon (mental_mouse) says:

Hmm... as Martha noted, Tip is usually not that flamboyant, and especially that fan-and-eyelashes pose doesn't suit his personality(*).  Of course, he could certainly dress up for a poster shoot....  Where did Sweetheart's muzzle go?  And yow, Mustachio is BIG!

*:  Which, on consideration, is quite well-considered.  As a TS once told me, "once you've gone out in public wearing a dress, there's nothing left that can scare you".  (YMMV, especially if you were born female. ;-) )

N La Teer (zapatos) says: I (what are we at now?  Fourth?  Fifth?) the notion that this MUST become a poster.  It is too awesome not to.  And Tip looks absolutely fabulous in that dress.
Edwin Quantrall (reynard) says: Yes! Yes! Either a poster or a wallpaper! Or both!
Shaenon Garrity (shaenongarrity) says:
Tip can be very flamboyant depending on his mood. He's always a model of class and style, of course.
Nick Christensen (incidence) says: I would so buy a poster of this, best doodle yet.
Justin Grubbs (the_purple_knight) says: Is anyone going to make an attempt to read what it says on the other side in case it will give us hints on future comics?
Kaesa Aurelia (kaesa) says:

Unity looks kickass, and Sweetheart has that doggy "Am I supposed to be wearing this?" look.

And of course, now I have TMBG's "The Shadow Government" stuck in my head.
