I thought it’d be about time to actually talk to you guys directly and introduce myself and the comic officially.
My names Robert Bass, also known as Sir Pointy to many online. I should probably change that alias some time, but meh, I’ve had it a long time and developed a soft spot, plus it still gets a few laughs.
As for the man behind the name, I’m a 22 year old Englishman who’s literally just finished his third year studying a BA (Hons) in Sequential Illustration. I should be getting the results today in fact, I’ll let you guys know how I do when I can, chances are I’ll be a little bit drunk over the next few days, bwahaha! After today though I’ll officially be calling myself a Freelance Illustrator. That or Unemployed, but the other sounds better when chatting down the pub.
The comic, as you should know is called “Sod’s Law”. I dedicate it to the annoying little things in life. This comic actually started out as part of a self promotional college project to be displayed during my end of year show. Already some positive feedback has been shown, and I intend to continue working on the project and use it as a way to develop myself and my abilities. I still have many questions I want to explore about my work, and hope this comic will help me develop my visual style.
As I said, the comic is dedicated to the annoying little things in life. It’ll mostly be autobiographic, though I won’t limit it to my own experiences. I’m not unlucky enough for that. In fact I don’t want to limit anything with the comic at the moment, yet keep it experimental and open to change. So who knows where the comic will lead.
If you have any questions you’d like to ask me, feel free to contact me, my e-mail is firstname.lastname@example.org or you can go to my Deviantart page and send me a note or browse some older work at http://www.sirpointy.deviantart.com
I hope you all keep watching the comic, and hopefully I’ll get into a good routine to keep on updating, even if it’s just a sketch or two of yours truly looking like a pirate as seen above. (Sometimes I miss that goatee, ah well.) See you all again soon!
