Gary Edwards (dingo) says:
Love this one! The tongue out in the third panel is just great!
A Dugdale (dugdale24) says:
great strip except shouldn't it be, "doo doo de doo de doo de doo, can't touch this?" :)
J. Kiefer (carew) says:
Ha! That's great!
Monk Mayfair (monk) says:
Might have gone with "Unus the Untouchable, A Quinn Martin Production", but that's probably before your time. Bravo on the parachute pants.
Dan H (frodo-x) says:
This is awesome!! A nice switch from the heavy Civil War/Captain America stuff we've got going on. And I'll agree with Monk, nice touch with the parachute pants.
Dan H (frodo-x) says:
Oh, and I believe Weird Al Yankovic did a song called Spider-man that spoofs Billy Joel's Piano Man.
Branko Miskov (unus) says:
Thanks. As the donor mentioned above, I think this is pretty awesome.
M. Parkinson (snufflymonkey) says:
Hey Branko - glad you liked it. And btw the spidey comment is obviosuly tongue in cheek as spidey has several theme songs ;) The 60's cartoon theme fo example which my 3 year old knows off by heart :)
Glad thsi one went down well - i liked it at the time but when i finsihed it up i thought i had messed something up somewhere..
Mike S (venomous) says:
HAHAHA man thats awesome! The expression on his face, and the text in panel 2 is what does it for me lol. Keep up the great work, year one kicks ace!
mike higgins (bairdduvessa) says:
still better than my coloring
J. Kiefer (carew) says:
YAY! I had a chance to look through Civil War: Battle Damage Report yesterday and was pleased to see that Slapstick was in it (In a small but promising capacity). I love this cover! Enjoy the New Warriors re-read!
John Gallant (cheeseburger) says:
Is it just the scanner you have or do all scanners have trouble reproducing colour? Have you thought of digitally coloring the scanned pencils/inks? Might make things more vibrant (at the expense of time).
P-TOR Praetorius (sanctumsanctorumcomix) says:
Make sure your scanned art is set to RGB (for monitor color) and not CMYK (for print color). RGB makes it POP on the screen (CMYK is great for print, but dulls the heck out of the color on monitors). If you are saving with photoshop, just go up to IMAGE and then MODE and select RGB (or "save for web" if saving as a gif). You should notice the difference. ~P~ P-TOR SanctumSanctorumComix
mike higgins (bairdduvessa) says:
a wade a day keeps the sanitarium away
Dane Lamont (d-omni) says:
I'm a big fan of Deadpool, so I love the idea of sporadically going to his talk show. And I got a good chuckle from Iron-Man bursting through the wall. That's quickly becoming my favorite gag in this strip.
Dan H (frodo-x) says:
The suit on Deadpool is a nice touch. And I agree about the coming through walls thing Dane said.
Carla Hewitt (snapjudgments) says:
The first look on Bullseye's face is priceless!
Brian Kovich (erato) says:
Love these late night w/Deadpool strips. YO is definately a highlight of my day. Sorry for not signing up to post sooner.
Buddy Brian
A Dugdale (dugdale24) says:
good strip and a nice bit of self advertising. Disco dancing bullets are great. I take it having Speedball saying "balls" in every strip wouldn't be funny.
Rob Cline (rob) says:
Cap is dead?
Rob Cline (rob) says:
No, seriously, Cap died in issue #50 of the 'Heroes Return' series. Then the next month, he was alive in a new #1 (a mini-series first, then the Marvel Knights series followed), with no explaination at all. How can this time be any different or more relevant? Anyone got any answers?
P-TOR Praetorius (sanctumsanctorumcomix) says:
It's much like General Douglas macArthur's Farewell Address to Congress... "Old soldiers never die...they just fade away..." "...and then come back a few months later with a re-designed uniform, and a double-holofoil variant cover NEW # 1 issue!" I think that's a direct quote from MacArthur. Really, I swear. ~P~ P-TOR
P-TOR Praetorius (sanctumsanctorumcomix) says:
hahaha... actually laught out loud at that last panel. Nicely done ~P~ P-TOR
Dan H (frodo-x) says:
GOOD GOLLY!! Greatness!
Carla Hewitt (snapjudgments) says:
I want that second panel on a T-shirt
M. Parkinson (snufflymonkey) says:
i should add i really was thinking of swapping styles but looking at l'il bats expressions on thi strip - i just nailed them!
Alex Simonov (lexander) says:
i realy dont like the new dc look.
Neil Adams (rilynil) says:
Awesome, Mike! I especially like the way Lil Bats is grabbing his face in anguish in the final panel. I've seen kids do that exact thing! Hilarious!
Brian Kovich (erato) says:
Just checked out DC YO at Raging Bullets. Good Stuff. However, I too prefer the older look. But you know I always prefered the classics. :)
Gary Edwards (dingo) says:
I may get lynched, but I really like the new style for the DC comic.
Dan H (frodo-x) says:
A fine rip on Sally's stupid Frontline #11 speech, I must say!
M. Parkinson (snufflymonkey) says:
i thought so..a little out of date now though but hey..
Cushing & Brandt (internalaffairs) says:
Ok, that was freakin' priceless! Gotta be the best Year One I've seen in ages! Well done Mike, good to have you back.
Neil Adams (rilynil) says:
LOL! What a great one. Lil Punisher as Cap is just hilarious. And what a scary looking kid he is without the Cap mask!
A Dugdale (dugdale24) says:
Eat justice. Amazing.
Frank Castle (punisher) says:
I love it. :)
Cushing & Brandt (internalaffairs) says:
Priceless; absolutely priceless. I'm loving the current direction, and some of the one-liners are PERFECT ("Just don't cry. That's Supes' gig.")... -Ted
Meteoro M (meteoro) says:
I just finished reading the entire thing, from 2005 up to here and I have to say, quite a ride! :) Mike, you must have heard it before, but yours is an awesome work. I'm really impressed. In fact, I've never followed a webstrip before, that's how good this is. And I already checked the DC version to Year One and made sure to book mark it. I'm more of a DC guy myself, but I do get Marvel. Anyway, just wanted to say how much I appreciate this :).
M. Parkinson (snufflymonkey) says:
well - wow - thank you. I must admit - im having a bit of a downswing in comittment and interest at the moment - im having trouble keeping regular updates and i feel that although i have a lot of people who like the strip its not really increasing in numbers - its actually lost a lot in th elast 6 months. So yeah, thats nice to hear - thank you!
Gary Edwards (dingo) says:
The Captain Marvel disaster should be interesting to see.
Meteoro M (meteoro) says:
Fun as usual :). Now that I finished reading the entire deal, I guess I will have to set to one strip a day, lol. Anyway, I'm going to link this strip in my sig at other places I visit. This is so good no one should miss it.
David Ding (sokar) says:
You should have used Belasco!!!!! Belasco is the ruler of limbo. Mephisto is the rule of Hell! The whole comic book limbo thing would have been much better with Belasco.
Cushing & Brandt (internalaffairs) says:
Other than that? Best thing about the strip is the Sentry's joke about being drawn so he can't even reach the cards. Something about his formal indignance while being totally absurb was hilarious. - Kevin
Alex Simonov (lexander) says:
now i know why you created a different "EARTH" for your DC strip,so that the two strips wont CLASH.
Meteoro M (meteoro) says:
Heehee, it seems pretty fun to me. :) I love your DC characters drawn this way :). Now, you should bring in the Legion! 0.0
A. Rand (taellosse) says:
I figured the joke was that the Justice League has an absurdly large membership these days, and apparently all they've got time for is admitting new members. I'm not sure if that's still true, since I don't read DC regularly, but I assume it is. I just remember the spread page from "The Death of Superman" storyline where all the extended Justice League members show up to try to help Supes beat Doomsday, and there were, like, dozens of them.
Meteoro M (meteoro) says:
Uhhhhhh... 0.0 The Death of Superman was 15 years ago... Anyway, the joke is that it took them 8 issues (counging #0) to get their team established in the newly launched Justice League of America book. :)
Michael Pennington (darktorment) says:
To be fair the ''Dozens'' of members that turned up were Booster Gold, Blue Beetle, Fire and Ice, and Bloodwynd. Who? My thoughts exactly.
Mark H (ampersand) says:
I find it funny that you wrote this about 2 months ago, and they're STILL finalising the team! Urgh... Just bloody DO something! Come on! Oh, and I finally got my login details sorted. Hurray for commenting :D [mark]
M. Parkinson (snufflymonkey) says:
Just like to say thanks for all the comments lately guys - its been a rough 3 weeks or so and comments always cheer me up.
Gary Edwards (dingo) says:
Hehehe. Love this one.
Meteoro M (meteoro) says:
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh, Green Kid's oath!!! :D It doesn't get better than that, LOL!!!!!!
Dan H (frodo-x) says:
I don't even read DC, and I'm loving this stuff with Spidey visiting them! Hope things perk up for you soon.
David Ding (sokar) says:
Genius! This is your most hilarous comic yet!
Jonathan Miller (jonathan_miller) says:
Nice one Mike!
J. Kiefer (carew) says:
HA! Take that Hal.
I would not eat them here nor there...
Mark H (ampersand) says:
Genius! I like GL too but... I mean, come on! Lil' Spidey looks great in the last panel. And yeah, they sure are touchy
heh... so funny
Alex Simonov (lexander) says:
That Bubble Thing Kicks Ass !
Neil Adams (rilynil) says:
I love Spidey interacting with DC characters. :)
Jorge Gonzalez (jorge) says:
I love this "saga" And i love your work in ragingbullets I almost died with the "underage blondes mostly" Keep goin you're the best!
A Dugdale (dugdale24) says:
Genius. Really enjoying this run.
M. Parkinson (snufflymonkey) says:
Ok the buttons up the top are working! I'm an internet genius!!(maybe) - of course theres nothing up on ebay at the moment ..oops. :) If anyone has any ideas on how i should structure the strip selling please let me know - i like the idea Brian suggested of having a strip available to buy at the site for a limited period after it first runs - then if you want it you have to take your chances on ebay..
M. Parkinson (snufflymonkey) says:
I should ALSO say - thanks for the comments over the last few days -0 i feel i waste my time a bit if no-one says anything (although i know i probably wouldnt leave a comment) so its nice to know people are reading! Thanks :)
L Tang (sentaiwarrior) says:
Like the sly nod to the lack of continuity and/or editors not doing their job these days!
Meteoro M (meteoro) says:
If commenting is what it takes for your to keep on doing this strip, then I'm here for life! :) I just love this strip! And Spidey moving into the DC school is just genius :). By the way, I'm checking now on that other strip. I guess there must be something new posted already.
Jim (shieldslinger) says:
Absolute Brilliance!!!!
Mike S (venomous) says:
SWEET!...VENOM!!!
Cushing & Brandt (internalaffairs) says:
Now the question is...how to make Venom cute? - Kevin
Carla Hewitt (snapjudgments) says:
... is this is the Year One Spider-Man 3 movie tie in? =)
Jens Altmann (jensaltmann) says:
I admit I'm a slacker that way. I read Year One religiously every morning before starting work. Along with Nemi, my favorite (almost-)daily chuckle. Keep up the good work.
M. Parkinson (snufflymonkey) says:
No worries guys - i sure wouldnt comment (and dont) at all the sites i love - but i should! (i try to send an email every now and again to some of my favourite sites to let them know how much i love what they're doing) so its good. :)
No strip today - ive actually been very sick the last month on and off and have had asthma quite bad over the last week in particular. Still - it shouldnt mess up the schedule too much and i should have strips uploaded for thursday and Friday. And Carla - yes - its the obligatory Venom cash--i..er..storyline.
M. Parkinson (snufflymonkey) says:
btw the 'teh' in the last panel was a deliberate typo.
For once.
Meteoro M (meteoro) says:
I hope you get better. And yup, ever since I finished reading the entire run of Year One, I've been reading it every morning before starting work. It kinda injects me with a fun sense of life :).
A Dugdale (dugdale24) says:
For some reason i thought most of the typos in year one were deliberate. Just to give the characters a more child like manner. Oh well, i suck. Hope you feel better soon. Really enjoying the strip both here and at RagingBullets. (I don't read much DC but its still very accessible)
Neil Adams (rilynil) says:
Get to feeling better, Mike! :) I love that Lil Luke Cage has popped up.
Jim (shieldslinger) says:
"Inappropriate Man Hugging!!!" - Classic!!! Wait a sec - Uncle Ben isn't dead anymore?? I know I haven't been following Spidey's adventures lately, but you'd think I'd have heard of this...
J. Kiefer (carew) says:
The Return was terrible... I really felt cheated on that one. This strip does a better job of explaining "the return" that the comic did. You did in four panels what they couldn't do well in half a book.
Cushing & Brandt (internalaffairs) says:
To shieldslinger: They brought in and promptly killed an alternate timeline version of Uncle Ben in Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. Then until recently there was a Chameleon from 2211 running around looking like him. So the original is still dead, and thankfully both of the fakes are now, too. To Mike: "Inappropriate man hugging, soldier" is one of the best lines you've ever written! I loved this one! - Kevin
Jamie Pritchard (the_watcher) says:
Hi there.. Just registered and I have to say that I love these strips! Not only are they extremely funny but they are also accurately scathing.. Although Marvel has recently caused me to jump ship I feel I still have a connection through your comic. Keep up the excellent work! BTW - Do you have an idea who Ronin may be? Or perhaps why Sentry is being totally underused?
Meteoro M (meteoro) says:
Hey! I wasn't around when Captain Mar-Vel was first around, so, I didn't grow attached to the character, but The Return did seem kind of rushed and convenient. It could have been handled way much better (if at all). On the other hand, I think it's an interesting set-up for a series. I mean. The character knows he's dead in the present time and he's stuck with a future he apparently can't change (we all know he can, but he doesn't have to, doesn't he?). Anyway, the strip is fantastic as always. I love the macho speech through little Cap, heehee.
P-TOR Praetorius (sanctumsanctorumcomix) says:
GOLD!
Neil Adams (rilynil) says:
Great strip today, Mike! Man, Marvel should NEVER monkey around with Captain Marvel's death. I bought that book when it first came out, and it's one of the most stirring comics EVER, in my opinion. One of the truly great comics of all time. :)
M. Parkinson (snufflymonkey) says:
Wow. LOVING the comments everyone - thank you all so much! Unfortunatley i cant get a strip up today but it should be up tomorrow instead. Neil - I agree. And theres a strip regarding that coming up soon. P-TOR - thanks - i alway svalue your input! Meteoro - i agree - its a good concept - they just executed it so badly imo Watcher - thanks! I appreciate that! :) I like being called scathing ;) As for Ronin - i dont know - i havent read much New Avengers lately - Hawekeye maybe? And Sentry - who knows. He doesnt seem too well liked in the online community. internalaffairs (and Jim) - isnt there a future uncle ben still running around? I dont know - i havent read Friendly for the last few issues either...and heh, my best lines are apparently always afterthoughts as was the case with this one. Jesse - thanks :) Its kinda weird - i was told that by someone else today too. I got it all from wikipedia so there you go! :) Thanks again everyone - i appreciate the comments and feedback!!
Meteoro M (meteoro) says:
Tomorrow I'll see the newest strip, then. :) In the meanwhile: Make Mike Marvel!
P-TOR Praetorius (sanctumsanctorumcomix) says:
ThanX for the kind words Mike. Seriously, though... the gift you have for FACIAL EXPRESSIONS is wonderful. This episode is an absolutely PERFECT example The subtlety of some of the expressions is fantastic. You make it look easy (and I know it isn't). And, of course, the ridicule...er...satire is top notch. Keep it up! ~P~
David Ding (sokar) says:
Is that Kazar?
Gary Edwards (dingo) says:
The most eagerly awaited Year One storyline evah!!1!!
Meteoro M (meteoro) says:
OMG! 0.0 Venom! Make Mike Marvel!
Jim (shieldslinger) says:
Wait a sec, could I have just one more clue?? Braaainsss!!! I love it!
Dan H (frodo-x) says:
Ah, Venom... Complete with inhumanly large tongue. No doubt needed to make eating the brains easier. Great strip!
Jonathan Miller (jonathan_miller) says:
Nice one Mike!
Mike S (venomous) says:
FINALLY...VENOM!!! My favourite comic character! Best strip ever! You did Venom awesome. I love how you make fun of his brain eating by spoofing Zombie movies. Awesome! I look forward to this strip more than some books I buy. Keep it up! More Venom!
Claire L. (anomalicious) says:
Hi! I just read through the entire archives of YO! Even though I'm new to comics (I'm sure I miss half the jokes...), I've really had fun reading your strip. I wanted to let you know how awesome I think your work is! Thanks so much :)
M. Parkinson (snufflymonkey) says:
Wow - seriously - thanks everyone. The comments are what makes it worthwhile...i say that sincerely. Now i have to think of something to do with Venom! Eeep... And yes, i have no idea why but that is INDEED Ka-zar..
Neil Adams (rilynil) says:
Yep, Lil Venom looks AWESOME! And I agree: Molly of the Runaways totally rocks! :) I love Nico, too.
A Dugdale (dugdale24) says:
Venom looks great mike. Look forward to deadpool strip too. they are always great.
Gary Edwards (dingo) says:
Wolverine or Punisher should be along momentarily to exact revenge for this marketing centric strip.
Meteoro M (meteoro) says:
Oooohhh plugging the movie, that's so cool :). And they should take you, Mike, in the CBR, if they don't then it's definitely their loss. Anyway, Venom does babble a lot, that's what kinda hit me from the funny books, lol.
Daniel Gayton (rman021) says:
You can't have Venom without the eating of the brains. ^_^
A Dugdale (dugdale24) says:
The ragingbullets strip is indeed not clever or scathing but it is very very funny. Venom looks great. Don't know how you managed to make him look cute but you did.
David Ding (sokar) says:
So true, I wish they would stop stupid movie tie-ins, they are so forced. It's not like the movies help the comic sales anyways. Also, you should totally make fun of stupid cloud Galactus, that'd be so awesome!!!!
Mike S (venomous) says:
Kick Ass, the 2 Venom strips have been my favourites. You're the first comic-related site I check every day. Awesome work.
M. Parkinson (snufflymonkey) says:
Thanks peoples - i appreciate it! But the cloud galactus? What the heck is a cloud galactus?? I need to check that out..
Brian Kovich (erato) says:
Great strip today, Mike. Not a big Venom fan but YO makes him so cute and cuddly, like a rabid chihuahua.
David Ding (sokar) says:
Apparently in the next F4 movie Galactus is going to be a cloud.... yeah, a fricking cloud. A cloud just screams devour of worlds, ravager of planets....
Frank Castle (punisher) says:
Oh boy. Marketing. At least I have a Punisher appearance to look forward to, when Punisher 2 rolls around next summer.
M. Parkinson (snufflymonkey) says:
I forgot - i have some new cards up on ebay - green lantern, magneto, first appearance iron man and...Doom! Yep - Dooms finally up. As well a Han Solo card and something else i cant remembe roff the top of my head..
Jens Altmann (jensaltmann) says:
"its probably a lot funnier to me than other people"
Actually, yeah. The new Year 1 DC strip reads like you're trying to sell Countdown for DC. Here, you make fun of marketing, there, I wonder if DC pays you. :(
Meteoro M (meteoro) says:
Aw, poor little Venom, he really wants to stand by his code. Just his urges are a little too urgent, lol.
Daniel Gayton (rman021) says:
Mmm, brains...
Great stuff once more.
Dan H (frodo-x) says:
I like how Venom has clearly spit all over Gobby while talking to him.
Meteoro M (meteoro) says:
Oh, but that Green Kid is just so good! Real nice, Mike!
Gary Edwards (dingo) says:
I will make Doom MINE!
M. Parkinson (snufflymonkey) says:
Thats the new look for the Hulk btw - ive never been happy with how ive been drawing him..
Jim (shieldslinger) says:
"I just threw up in my mouth a little"!!!! That's great!!!
I especially like the segue between "They treated it with resp" and "Whasssup!" Keep up the great work!
A Dugdale (dugdale24) says:
ka-ching
David Ding (sokar) says:
It's funny....but why are the eye for Captain Marvel so inconsistent? He has dots in panel 3, but don't have them in panel 2 and 4. But I love Iron Man's expression in the last panel, that's just hilarous!
Meteoro M (meteoro) says:
Heehee! The dead guys brought back to life could give some tips to the ones who are still dead.
Jonathan Miller (jonathan_miller) says:
"Waaaaaassssupppppp". Love it!
Brian Kovich (erato) says:
"I just threw up in my mouth a little" High-Larious. And the art just keeps getting better. Great work, Mike!
J. Kiefer (carew) says:
I read the eyes in the third panel as being necessary to convey the 4th wall break, it wouldn't read as well without them. I like how over the top Marvel is (obnoxious even), he's so subdued and almost somber in "The Return" that it makes this strip that much funnier.
Dan H (frodo-x) says:
Mr. Pool! Ha-ha-ha!! Yeah, that sounds like a crap scenario. Luckily, I don't read DC.
Brian Kovich (erato) says:
Mike, some of us like Snarky. Great word, "Snarky". Add This one to my "Want" pile.
Neil Adams (rilynil) says:
Man, that Superman release schedule sounds AWFUL! But I love today's strip with Deadpool and Supes. :)
A Dugdale (dugdale24) says:
Hey mike, I really like the drawing of Superman here. Makes him look a lot goofier than your ragingbullets version. I don't like superman such so making him look slightly retarded is always good in my book.
M. Parkinson (snufflymonkey) says:
You think? i think he looks a lot goofier in the other version..anyway.. Its going to be a light update week this week - partially cos of the spidey movie - partially cos of other stuff. So anyway - there'll be strips Tues, Wed and a ..i dont know..special?..strip on thursday to celebrate the spidey movie.
Meteoro M (meteoro) says:
Me, I like the snarky cynical bit :). When it's done in a fun way, strips like this one turn up. I mean. H-I-L-A-R-I-O-U-S!!!!!
A Dugdale (dugdale24) says:
I think its just the side glances in this one that makes him look a tad moronic. its a good thing. I have to agree with the idea of not soliciting issues untill they are almost done. Get 4 issues in the can before releasing the first. (I ordered Ultimates: Grand Theft America in August last year!)
M. Parkinson (snufflymonkey) says:
Heh..yeah, i will give you that supes in panel two doesnt look the brightest.. and dont even get me started on Ultimates..
mike higgins (bairdduvessa) says:
hey mike, sorry i haven't been posting. i am still viewing the srips daily. Happy birthday Karas!
L Tang (sentaiwarrior) says:
Yes - Happy Birthday Kara! We don't mind fewer new strips if its a good reason!
Jim (shieldslinger) says:
Happy Birthday, Kara!!!!!
P-TOR Praetorius (sanctumsanctorumcomix) says:
Happy 1st Birthday to Kara! ~P~ P-TOR
P-TOR Praetorius (sanctumsanctorumcomix) says:
Here's a Happy Birthday clip that is ADORABLE, and PERFECT for a 1 year old!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X2Z4ysi91AY
~P~ P-TOR
A Dugdale (dugdale24) says:
Happy Birthday Kara. Hope you have a good time.
Dan H (frodo-x) says:
I love Spidey's enthusiasm here. And Happy Birthday to Kara!
Jonathan Miller (jonathan_miller) says:
Love the sketch. Happy first birthday Kara!
Brian Kovich (erato) says:
Already have tickets to the midnight showing here on Thursday. heh. oh, and Happy Birthday Kara!!
Neil Adams (rilynil) says:
Happy first birthday, Kara!!!!!!!! :)
M. Parkinson (snufflymonkey) says:
Thanks so much everyone - and Kara thanks you all too!
Jorge Gonzalez (jorge) says:
Wow Happy birthday Kara! Very cute sketch Mike.
Meteoro M (meteoro) says:
Oh, yes, happy birtday to your super baby girl, Kara. Congrats! And lots of pop corn and chocolates. Hmmmm... well, I think she's still to little, ok, I'll eat them :)
Brian Kovich (erato) says:
The strip is apropriate. But I can't believe you thought the new movie was good. The first 30 minutes maybe. Way too much going on, and when did Raimi decide to make a bad 70's exploitation film?!?!!?!?! Definately the "Batman & Robin" of the Spidey trilogy!
M. Parkinson (snufflymonkey) says:
I didnt say it was great Brian :) Totally agree on the 'way too much going on' comment..but it was still Spidey and it was still good. Just wasnt great. bad exploitation film? Im curious now .. :)
Gary Edwards (dingo) says:
It was an awesome movie. The bad exploitation was the bit where he was strutting about.
Meteoro M (meteoro) says:
I loved the strip, as usual :). And I'm going to see the movie tomorrow. I can't wait. :D
mike higgins (bairdduvessa) says:
i agree about 2 being better than three
M. Parkinson (snufflymonkey) says:
for sure. I saw it again today - it was good (i probably enjoye dit better the second time around but the other two were better structured more intelligent movies.
mike higgins (bairdduvessa) says:
tis a sad day
Gary Edwards (dingo) says:
Tis a very sad day.
L Tang (sentaiwarrior) says:
Sad news but the silver lining is we'll see an actual Year One comic in the future! While Year One is still running, I suggest everyone clicks on the Vote Top Web Comics button below the calendar and votes for Year One so it gets the send off it deserves!
Meteoro M (meteoro) says:
Oh, well, real sad news :*( But in a way, also good news since you would be working on something that might actually see print and stuff. I don't want to get all philosophical on this deal, but everything that makes you grow is good. Let's leave it at that :). Good luck with all of your projects and drop a strip whenever you can.
Brian Kovich (erato) says:
Aww shucks. But I'm glad you have some interesting projects coming up. Whatever you're up to, I'm sure most of us will stick by. Keep with the funny.
Dan H (frodo-x) says:
Sad, but understandable. Glad you're not abandoning the concept altogether. I look forward to New Year One.
Cushing & Brandt (internalaffairs) says:
Oh, I'd love to see a "NEW Year One" comic. Shame to see the current run come to an end, though - it's made Marvel's greatest blunders seem entertaining.-Ted
P-TOR Praetorius (sanctumsanctorumcomix) says:
First of all... ;-) I think that this was the best looking strip you've ever done (right in time for it all to wrap up... GAH!). As for a Year One hiatus... hey, man. Gotta take care of the bizniz. The paying gigs have to come before the fun stuff (or else I'd be writing & drawing my own stuff full time and living in a box). I'm AM glad to hear about a return to "We've Got Issues", however. I loved that strip and was saddened when it seemed like it was abandoned. Anyway, go do what you gotta. We'll be here. ~P~ P-TOR
M. Parkinson (snufflymonkey) says:
Thanks guys - I still want to make it #500 with the strips - just cant at the moment. BUt then yes - probably #500 will be the last in this form. I'll restart up the WGI concept as a daily strip and YO will return in comic book format. So its not gone - just ..transformed..
L Tang (sentaiwarrior) says:
Ultimate Year One?
Meteoro M (meteoro) says:
Year One from Earth-2 ;)
Cushing & Brandt (internalaffairs) says:
Well with the delays coming up, I think it's actually All Star Year One - Kevin
Meteoro M (meteoro) says:
Don't blame him, maybe Heinberg is writing his plots. :P
dorian fogliatto (quimerico) says:
Did you died?
dorian fogliatto (quimerico) says:
I think he died.... *poke*
Gary Edwards (dingo) says:
He's not dead, he's just sleeping.
A Dugdale (dugdale24) says:
Buy Commissions! My new wife bought me one as a wedding pressent and it is fantastic.
L Tang (sentaiwarrior) says:
Good to see you're back - well, sorta...
