Standard Design is a totally fake name used by graphic designer Tom Pappalardo, a resident of Northampton, Massachusetts. Born 'n' raised in Haverhill, Mass., Tom has been drawing comics for a long time, but like, no one's seen most of 'em.

Tom is the author of Failure, Incompetence (self-published, 2005) and Through the Wood, Beneath the Moon (Caliber Comics, 1998, drawn by Matt Smith). He is a collaborator on Famous Fighters (self-published, 2006, also with Matt), and is mostly responsible for part one of his long-simmering graphic novel project, Broken Lines.
