On hiatus - next update October 6 2010...
Back on Magellan... useful to know stuff: Here we are back on the island (yay!) - a few things that might bring you up to speed and/or refresh your memory...
  • Robo-Mat: This is a training facility for cadets and active heroes alike. The robots can be programed to various specifications to mimic known threats and villains. All action is simulated to ensure realism and safety. The most recent examples of Robo-Mat usage can be found here and here. So "Robo-President Tin-Can" isn't a real president just a stand-in for the purposes of this exercise...!
  • Character Assassins: The real Character Assassins (for those featured today are, of course, robots) are a cult of terrorists who believe that they live within a narrative and that only by killing significant 'characters' can the divinity of the Narrator be revealed. Yes, they're crazy! We saw them in a couple of Miasma's illusions during the last chapter - most notably here.
  • Cadets: We have five cadets in this particular exercise - three are fairly well known by now... Kaycee Jones (a norm with no specific powers), Bill Banks (flying, invulnerable, powerhouse) and Nadine Turner (speedster). The other two were seen most notably in Chapter 2 - Joe Berger (density control) and Louis Jackson (leaping, great leg strength). You also need to know that Joe and Louis don't have the best working relationship...!
...It's a gas, gas, gas!
Familiar faces: You might remember Tom (ThundaKlap) Bass and Justine (Redd) Keff who are currently Magellan Island's Head of Security and Academy Chief Tactical Trainer respectively. They were last seen together on these pages swapping jobs! Yes, Justine has changed her hair. You might have also noticed that speedster cadet Nadine Turner has also changed her hair from curls to dreads (presumably she was suitably impressed by her alternate-future self's rasta look to emulate it).
