This is a fictionalized and satirized account of the incidents surrounding the arrest of the Jena Six, six black boys from Jena, Louisiana, who were arrested on grossly exaggerated charges after beating up a white schoolmate.
While I do not condone the fact that these boys beat up another boy, the racism inherent in the case at large deserves our attention. As media attention for the case gets broader, I run into more and more people who are unaware of the fact that these boys have been victims of a number of racially-motivated hate crimes as well as disgracefully racist practices in the handling of their case.
Here is a fact-based, more up to date chronology.
Please consider giving to the boys' defense fund.
