 Bare Manors #14 - I don't know about you, but I quite like the Glaxxoes... maybe they'll show up again!
I've long wanted to do an alien visitation to The Bare Pit but have had my doubts it would really work in that particular series. My interest in featuring some nude aliens stems from the frequently naked depictions of aliens in popular culture - especially the large eyed, green/grey skinned variety. For example, the one shown to the right recently featured in a Live Journal writer's block prompter question asking "do aliens really exist?". The most notable feature of those pop culture aliens though is that they're also always depicted as missing some fairly essential "equipment"...
As such, inspiration for this month's Bare Manors was also drawn from a MAD magazine Star Wars parody cartoon (circa 1977 (?)) that depicted Luke Skywalker paying a visit to the Cantina's rest-room.
As a kid, whenI read that comic for the first (second, third, fiftieth) time it made no sense to me whatsoever... what can I say, I was a bit thick. Anyway, this month's Bare Manors acknowledges that I finally worked out that aliens have different "plumbing".
