The majority of emails I get about my work ask two things- "When will Lions come back?" and "You must tell me what happens to poor Cilla. Cliffhangers are mean!"
I usually respond like this, "Thank you for reading me! I'm waiting until I have time to properly retell the story. I can't tell you what happens to Cilla- then you'd have no reason to read the rest of the story!"
Then people write back and say, "Aw great. Why do you want to redo it? That usually means that the story will never get finished."
Owch.
But it's true. I never liked the way Lions came out and that's why I didn't finish it. A few months ago Betto and Cilla started showing up in my doodles. Then I found myself drawing boats and cathedrals and rocky steppy streets. My stupid brain and hands are working against my best interests- luckily for the Lions.
So, here are my cats. Again. Betto's finally looking properly scrawny here and wears it well! Cilla is likable, but that's her job. You can trust me. I won't start putting it up again until I can do so without interruption.
Actually, the most common question is: "Why is Cilla purple?!"
I have no response to this. She's a talking cat. Being purple is the least of her worries.
